Transition is often occurring. Mourning the death of a loved one, moving to a new town, starting a new position within the same company, having a second child, adjusting to one’s body as we age a little more – gain some more weight- or lose the muscle tone we are used to having. The birth of a first nephew.
In the news this week there are mentions of loss: American Sniper, Chris Kyle‘s widow, the death of Ben Woolf at age 34, and of course, continued threats of death from the middle east. We wanted to take a breath to send positive thoughts to everyone who is going through something this week. And we felt the need to share an unfinished song with you. To share some of our own transition (new songwriting, adjusting to not having a recording studio in the west coast, seeking out Sponsors for sound libraries; missing Sunday brunch with family, seeing faces of people we know at our show, etc).
SoOOOo, we looked through the catalog of songs we are writing to share something thematic – A song about the transition of leaving – and the reasons for it (but introduced with a light melody).
So hear it is: ” If I’m leaving”
It is unfinished. All vocals and acoustic guitar (gasp). No Sarah Hope on this ditty – not yet. But we want your opinion – should we finish the song and offer it for sale? Should it be on the next album? Would you buy it as a single?
